Early May
City Council votes on plan

This means that we have until the very beginning of May to let City Council know how that Williamsburg and Greenpoint (as well as many other communities citywide) demand plans for their communities to be taylored to their community needs. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY FOR COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION.MARK APRIL 4 ON YOUR SCHEDULE, SKIP WORK, WEAR A WARRIOR HEADBAND, AND JOIN US TO LET OUR MESSAGE BE HEARD "THIS REZONING WILL ONLY BE DONE WITH COMMUNITY BENEFIT IN MIND!" (anyone and everyone can make a 2 minute speech at the hearing. if you've never spoken in public this is the time to do it!!!! for help with speech prepraration email speech-pro warrior Sam!)

EMERGENCY ORGANIZING/VOLUNTEER MEETING

THE CREATIVE COMMUNITY FIGHTS BACK
WHERE: Funhouse Bar, 160 n. 4th, btw Bedford and Driggs
WHAT: Plug in to the campaign to save our neighborhood!
A short info session and a meeting to organize visibility projects, events, plan creative actions, tell Bloomberg what's up... 
Come pick up stickers, stencils, fliers, etc.  Plot, scheme, and sign up to help out!
This is the second meeting of artists and groups representing the "creative industries".  It's open to the public.

Look, up in the sky!!
  The manufacturers of the neighborhood flew a series of balloons 40 stories high to show the height of the buildings we would be dealing with in the City Planners' plan. damn those were high.
